On Friday, the NFL announced that Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott would be suspended six games for violating the league’s Personal Conduct Policy, more than a year after Elliott’s ex-girlfriend Tiffany Thompson accused him of domestic violence. In a letter addressed to Elliott, B. Todd Jones, the chief disciplinary officer of the National Football League, wrote that “there is substantial and persuasive evidence supporting a finding that you engaged in physical violence against Ms. Thompson on multiple occasions during the week of July 16, 2016.” Elliott’s suspension was expected, but there is still a lot to digest from this ...
